Keith Werner is Of Counsel for the Firm of Bode & Werner, PLLC. He has over 32 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, beginning as a field landman, becoming an in-house Land Manager, a corporate transactional attorney, in-house counsel for a public exploration and production company, and title attorney.

Keith obtained his undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1972. Upon graduation, he served in the U. S. Army while stationed in Wurzburg, Germany. He returned to the United States in 1975 and attended South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, obtaining his JD in 1978.

After law school and a brief litigation practice, Keith was lured to the oil field where he began as a field landman in the early 1980’s, and subsequently began writing title opinions. He was subsequently hired by Prudential Drilling Company as Land Manager, where he learned first-hand all about oil and gas operations and running exploration and production programs. In the mid 1990’s, Keith became Vice-President Land & Legal for Saratoga Resources Company, a public oil and gas exploration company in Houston, Texas. From Saratoga, Keith joined the law firm of Boyer, Ewing & Harris as part of their oil and gas and transactional practice.

Keith subsequently joined the Sadler Law Firm in 2005 where he continued examining title and writing title opinions, participating in numerous acquisition and due diligence projects. In late 2007, Keith started the Firm of Martin, Bode, Werner & Mann, PLLC, which later became Bode & Werner, PLLC. From humble beginnings, and through hard work and dedication, the Firm has survived and become a family of professionals dedicated to serving its clients.

Keith is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the State Bar of North Dakota (Inactive), and several Professional Associations, including the Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law Section, State Bar of Texas; and the Houston Association of Petroleum Landmen. Keith is a Life Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and is the proud grandfather of Summer Elizabeth, Kalyn Lee, Claire Olivia, Robert W. and Landry Michelle.
